Diet

Carnivore. Aquatic invertebrates. A planktivore, it feeds on aquatic invertebrates, especially crustaceans such as water fleas and copepods.

Reproduction

From late May to the end of July on the grassy bottom and in small ravines.

Observation in the Reserve

It is abundant in the ‘lame’ and ‘lamette’, especially after containment of the wels catfish. A particularly threatened species, populations have dropped dramatically in Lake Iseo.
