A native species. When young, they move in groups. They are more solitary as adults.
Fish
There are a fair number of fish in the Reserve, both native and invasive. Two non-native species are classified as particularly invasive: crucian carp and wels catfish.
The fish population is therefore particularly abundant, not only with wels catfish, but also with alborella, carp, and triotto. On the other hand, other species typical of this type of habitat, such as eel, perch, and rudd, are scarce, and there are no pike.

Triotto
This is a native, ‘foraging’ species that moves in groups.

Common Rudd
This is a native, ‘foraging’ species that moves in groups.

Sunfish
An invasive species originally from North America.

Carp
This is a non-native species originating in western-central Asia, but it has been present in Italy for many centuries.

Eel
This is a native species, primarily nocturnal and averse to light and clean water.

Alborella
A native, ‘foraging’ species that moves in groups.
