A rigorously protected species (Berne Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, Annex II). The largest lizard to be seen in Lombardy, it has a bright green colour and is very fast.
Reptiles
The Reserve does not have any updated studies on reptiles. In addition to the species described, the herpetologist Rolando Bennati kindly reported the Italian slow worm (Anguis veronensis), the dice snake (Natrix tessellata), and the Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus).

Grass Snake
A species protected by Regional Law 10/2008. This species uses Batesian mimicry, that is, this harmless species (Natrice) imitates the characteristics of another dangerous species (Vipera) to discourage possible predators.
Common Wall Lizard
A species protected by the Habitat Directive (Annex IV). This is the best-known reptile in Northern Italy, a lively, agile climber.
Green Whip Snake
A species protected by the Habitat Directive (Annex IV). A large, non-venomous snake.
